The comprehensive 3-year program offers you an exciting and challenging opportunity to gain formal qualifications through extensive product training while full-time at a Hyundai dealer.

Hyundai Automotive Apprenticeships Application Process

Applications can be made via our vacancies page where you can view UK retailers who have an Apprentice vacancy.

When applying for a specific position, you will be asked to complete an online assessment and upload your CV. You will then receive a phone call to discuss your interest in becoming a Hyundai Apprentice Technician.

If you are successful at this stage of the recruiting process, you will be invited for a face-to-face interview with the dealer.

Dealers will make their employment decisions based on the most suitable candidate for their position.

Hyundai Automotive Apprenticeships Program Content

Upon completion, you will earn a full Certificate of Completion of Learning from the IMI (Institute of Automotive Industry); including IMI Awards Ltd qualifications at Level 3 for VCQ (Professional Competent Qualification) and VRQ (Vocational Qualification).

As part of the apprenticeship, you will also complete Functional Skills, Essential Skills or Essential Skills Wales depending on whether you live in England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland. Also included is a Level 2 Labor Rights and Responsibilities qualification.

In addition, a series of Hyundai Technical Training courses will be completed to ensure you have the most up-to-date knowledge and skills on your Hyundai product.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the automotive industry; forward thinking and eager to learn with an interest in personal development and progression. You will be hardworking, punctual and reliable. You will have excellent communication skills, a “can-do” attitude, and the ability to use your own initiative.

Required personal skills and atributes:

  • Hard work
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player
  • Self-motivated, with desire and passion
  • It literate
  • Sharp interest in cars and the general motor vehicle industry
  • Likes practical work. Mechanically aware with meticulous attention to detail
  • 5 GCSE’s in grades A* to C, including Maths, English, Science and ICT are essential.
